Corky Larsen, C.Ht. Meet Some of our
Wellness Center's
Cookie has been studying for over ten years with excellent, professional teachers, authors, healers, herbalists and trainers. She has been using Nature's Sunshine Products for over 12 years and believes in the company's integrity and quality control of their many products. Some places Cookie has taught include: Lakewood High School Adult Education, Cuyahoga County Libraries, The Herb Store in Medina, and The Herb Store in Brunswick. Today, she is a manager with NSP and loves teaching interested people how herbal supplements and vitamins can be better alternatives than Western drugs. Cookie is available on Sat. from

Michelle Star, IYT, CYT has had a long partnership with Yoga beginning her study in 1970. She started offering classes in 1985 and in 1995 received her training and certification from Kripalu Yoga and Health Center in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. She returned in 1997 for training and received certification as an Integrative Yoga Therapist. Michelle also trained in Yoga for special needs children in Evanston, Illinois in 2005 and teaches special needs children (autistic, Asperger’s, emotionally disturbed, adjudicated and learning disabled), able children, in addition to working with adults and seniors. Michelle studied dance for 11 years, DansKinetics (at Kripalu) and graduated LCCC with a physical education major. She has taught at national conventions, at the collegiate level and presented the Yoga Therapy classes for The Cleveland Clinic study entitled, "The Impact of Yoga on a Chronic Pain Population." This study revealed that Yoga practice yields statistically significant results. Michelle received her Reiki Master/Teacher certification in 1996 and has traveled in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania giving Yoga and Reiki continuing education seminars for physical and occupational therapists to integrate Yoga techniques into their work and personal lives. She has herself greatly benefited physically, mentally and spiritually from the practice of Yoga over a span of 38 years. Goldie

Karen Staley, LMT

Therapeutic Touch This is a subtle, non-invasive process where Pat consciously directs energy using her hands as a focus to facilitate the healing process. Therapeutic Touch promotes relaxation and a sense of comfort. Research has shown that Therapeutic Touch is effective in decreasing anxiety, altering the perception of pain, and mobilizing the individuals own healing energies to restore health, balance and order. Aromatherapy Pat uses pure essential oils that have therapeutic properties. They can be used topically or inhaled. They can also be used alone or in conjunction with other healing modalities to increase effectiveness.

Certified Reflexologist Sally has always been interested in and taken courses in alternative health. She practices meditation, Reiki and yoga. She has committed herself to help others feel better naturally and feels very blessed to be able to work at Inner Harmony. Sally offers Reflexology which is an interesting approach to better health. The technique Corky and Barb use is called the Group Empowerment DrummingTM Protocol. This protocol was the basis for the drumming research conducted by Dr. Barry Bittman. Dr. Bittman is a neurologist and CEO of the Mind-Body-Wellness Center of Meadville, Pennsylvania. You can find a link to his site on our Links page that describes his research. Corky and Barb have also had specialized training conducted by Christine Stevens, music therapist and Director of music and Wellness Programs at Remo. This Group Empowerment Drumming™ protocol is being used by music therapists across the country in health care facilities for staff and patients, by trainers in corporate environments for team building and stress management, and by therapists in support groups for people with healing challenges
